WP3: Optimization of system design
In order to identify the optimal ventilation system based on the performance assessment framework (WP2), ideally all possible ventilation concepts and strategies are suggested and compared. However, such an approach is not feasible, as possible solutions are practically indefinite, whereas engineering time is limited. Therefore, optimization tools and methods are needed, whichare able to deal with such a high complexity, and which facilitate later translation into feasible and cost-effective solutions with respect to software implementation (computation time) or engineering methods.
